Tru Blu’s new spot at Northam 48-hr free camp. It’s just out of town but still walking distance. There are about 10 bays here which can be shared or hogged. It’s completely off grid but we managed to have showers in TRU and the battery was full before the end of the day.
We also christened the eco toilet from OGO.💩😆 I’ll share more about our waterless eco toilet another time.

Northam is one of the biggest towns in the wheatbelt which was kinda obviously when we saw a Maccas, a KFC and Bunnings. It’s a popular tourist town because of its location, not far from Perth. It’s actually where Stephen and I got married in a hot air balloon as we floated over the beautiful area of Avon.
There are lovely walking trails along the Avon River and walking in to town was super easy. We checked out the Northam suspension bridge, the tourist centre and had a wander through town.

Northam suspension bridge is 117 metres tall and is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in Australia. It is held in place by two 56tonne blocks and was built using 1428metres of steel rope.
The bridge can hold up to 400 people at a time and can withstand winds up to 150kph. Back in 1985 when it was built is cost A$82,000.
Missy enjoyed Northam too. We always have her wearing a harness and lead and when possible I take her for walks. Yes, yes, I know a cat that goes for walks. But she does and she enjoys it until a hooman or four-legged animal scares her and she scurries back to TRU for safety.
