Wundowie, Western Australia.
A whopping 45mins travel to our first location. It may not seem like a long way but for us it was huge.
After months of preparing and renovating and planning and training to be finally driving down the road is a BIG deal. We feel proud!
Oh, have to mention the loss of Telstra service along the way which was a tad shocking considering how close we actually still were to Perth. Got that sorted quick smart with the Starlink mini which we named ‘The Mothership’. The Telstra drop-out meant we missed our turn off and took a lovely scenic route making our journey a tad longer until we arrived in wonderful sunny Wundowie.
It’s our first free-ish camping spot – it’s actually a donation site so we paid $10 a night. NOTE: donation was super easy via a QR-code.

The main reason for this as our first stop was that Angela – oh daughter dear – often does St John Ambulance voli shifts here so I wanted to see the town.
Glad we did too. It’s a lovely town.
The RV park is walking distance to the main street of town which includes the St John ambo sub-centre.
The RV park has a bunch of handstand spots. Super easy to drive into. But they were all full so we are on the grass looking at the oval. Gorgeous!
There are toilets nearby, bbqs to use, water to fill tanks and a chemical toilet dump site which we use for our grey water.
During our walk to the main street we ended up at Eternity Cafe for breakie and got a feast. We didn’t actually realised how big the servings were. They were huge. No lunch for us that’s for sure.
